The Bull Thistle is a very common weed. It can be found in all 50 states. The tall, spiny plant can reach up to 7 feet tall. The purple flower heads are 1 ½ to 2 inches in diameter and 1 to 2 inches long. The spiny nature of the plant renders it unuseful to wildlife and livestock and reduces the forage potential of pastures.
